As part of our ongoing mission to simplify infrastructure management, StackGen is thrilled to unveil a series of new features and improvements in our first 2025 release. Designed with both efficiency and security in mind, these updates help reduce the complexity of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud migrations. Let’s dive into the key updates you can expect.
One of the most exciting new capabilities is our support for migrating from Azure to Civo Cloud. This update provides a comprehensive framework for moving workloads with minimal manual intervention, making it easier for teams to switch clouds without compromising on functionality or security.
Key Features:
This new functionality sets the stage for a more flexible, multi-cloud approach, enabling your team to leverage the best of both worlds.
tfstate
FilesStackGen now offers built-in security and governance checks for imported tfstate
files, helping you identify potential vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in your infrastructure. This proactive approach ensures that your cloud environment adheres to industry security standards, reducing risks and streamlining compliance.
How It Works:
tfstate
file, StackGen analyzes your environment for issues like exposed secrets, misconfigurations, and security risks.Key Benefits:
By addressing issues early, StackGen helps save time and ensures your infrastructure remains secure.
We've also introduced several user interface upgrades to improve the user experience, particularly with the new Import Logs feature. Now, you can easily view the security and governance checks for your imported tfstate
files directly within the Topology canvas. These visual enhancements provide quicker access to critical security insights and remediation steps, further streamlining your workflow.
Another significant enhancement is the automatic inference of resource connections for tfstate imports. Instead of manually mapping connections between your resources, StackGen now automatically identifies and links related resources, simplifying the visualization and management of your infrastructure.
Key Benefits:
This feature removes a major pain point in cloud resource management, making your infrastructure easier to visualize and control.
To offer even more control over your cloud migration, we've introduced post-migration resource mapping. After completing a migration, you can now swap out resources for better fits based on your new cloud environment.
How It Works:
This flexibility ensures that your cloud environment is optimized for your specific requirements.
These updates are just the beginning. With continued improvements to cloud migration, security checks, and resource management, StackGen is committed to making infrastructure-as-code and cloud operations simpler, more secure, and more efficient.
